While we work on outlining our upcoming experiments, we’ll share everything we find. Data, documentation, and illustrations outlining how to leverage this power source that is specific to the Black Rock Playa. (You won’t be able to reproduce the results in San Francisco.)
Until then, we’re keeping a lid on it until more of the data rolls in and the illustrations are wrapped up. But don’t let that stop you from wondering out loud; what do you think it is?
Submit your guess in the comments; sumbissions that guess correctly before our announcements are made will be receive some shockingly electric schwag on the Playa this year. (C’mon, you think you know, don’t you?)

Ok, it’s not solar? Or anything wind related? Is it human powered, like bike pedals (or is it really particular to the playa? Any more clues you can give?

@Mo’ Playa - Welcome to PlayaPower.org! Right, this is much more specific to the properties of the Playa. Not impossible to reproduce elsewhere on the planet, but it does rely on some very specific conditions found during Burning Man. There’s your first clue.
And since we’re behind on updating the site, here’s a promise: every *reasonable* guess posted here will be met with an answer, and one more clue toward the correct answer. First person to answer in the ballpark will be rewarded with one of the working prototypes at the event!

It’s gotta be something to do with human waste. Plenty of that out there on the playa, or rather, in the porta-potties.
